About The Tara Building

What began in 2017 with a group of friends and 30 original members has grown into a vibrant community of hundreds. From the very start, Tara was never just about being a workspace – it was sea swims, workshops, rooftop beers, and the buzz of people connecting. Once a vacant site, the building itself has taken many forms over the years, from coworking floors and studios to offices and event spaces – always evolving with the people inside.

From full-time members to day pass visitors, everyone who’s come through our doors has made Tara what it is today. With gigs, talks, pastry mornings and even the odd wedding, The Tara Building has become a community where connections and friendship last well beyond the walls of the building.

Building Artwork

The Tara Building started as a dusty vacant site on Tara Street. Over the years, we’ve invited artists to come and transform the building into something special. From our iconic facade to interior murals and beautiful, bright spaces, we’re lucky to have so much creative talent contribute to our building.
