CreativeMornings Dublin: October Speaker — Ellius Grace

We’re delighted to share that our October edition of CreativeMornings Dublin will feature the brilliant Ellius Grace — a multi-talented director, writer, and photographer. The event takes place here at The Tara Building on Friday, 3rd October.

Ellius’ work spans film, music, and photography. He has directed music videos for artists including Christy Moore, James Vincent McMorrow, SOAK, Junior Brother, and DUG, as well as a powerful project set to the words of President Michael D. Higgins, starring Ciarán Hynds and Éanna Hardwicke.

Earlier this year, Ellius scooped four Kinsale Shark Music Video Awards in the Irish category. His video for Christy Moore – Boy in the Wild won both Best Music Video and Best Direction, while James Vincent McMorrow – Things We Tell Ourselves took home Best Concept and Best Low Budget Video.

In addition to music videos, Ellius has directed several narrative shorts, most recently A Song, funded by Screen Ireland and adapted from a short story by Colm Tóibín. He is currently developing his first feature film.

As a photographer, Ellius has captured portraits of Sinéad O’Connor, Graham Norton, Sally Rooney, and Shane MacGowan for international publications including The New York Times, i-D Magazine, and The Financial Times. His portrait of Sinéad O’Connor was shown at the National Gallery of Ireland for the Zurich Portrait Prize 2023, and his portrait of Shane MacGowan has been selected for the 2024 Portrait Prize.
