Tell us a bit about yourself and what you do.

I combine knowledge and experience from engineering, graphic design and business design and improvement to help organisations and individuals apply systems thinking to develop balanced and dynamic innovation strategies that are orientated towards sustainable growth. At the moment, I have a special interest in healthcare and am working on strategies to improve patient adherence to medical advice.
I am also currently part of a collective called The Art of Collaboration. The group is focused on combining various perspectives from music, organisational development, education, mental health and design to investigate collaboration and its outcomes through a variety of means.

What is your favourite fail?

I was never much of a hurler. When I played in school, I had one stand-out moment where I scored a goal… kind of. I attempted to block down a shot and I did so with my head. The sliotar got wedged in the face-guard of my helmet and would not come loose. Most of the other players at this stage were rolling around the place laughing as I tried and failed to free the sliotar from my helmet. I decided to take advantage of the opportunity and ran the length of the pitch headfirst into the goal and over the line. Nobody stopped me. The referee let the goal stand for creativity. I learned a few things that day, but mainly that you don’t have to follow the rules exactly to achieve your goals.
