Tell us a bit about yourself and what you do.
I’m a former Architecture student, who after a degree and professional experience, decided to switch industry to property development, and eventually transversed into interior design studies. I set up L’Estrange Designs in 2015, a firm dedicated to creating unique and thought provoking interiors. We specialise in the hospitality industry, and ensure to bring something new and eye-catching to the table for each project. I travel a lot, and absorb inspiration abroad to feed into our projects in Ireland, as well as those we’ve started working on overseas.
What is your favourite fail?
When I was starting out, I had injured my knee quite badly and couldn’t drive to meet with furniture manufacturers in a different county. My mum kindly offered to drive me up, and wait with a coffee while I had my meeting and specified the products for the bar in question. However, nearing the end, when I was letting her know we could hit the road again, she brightly greeted my client, and turned to me to say “Alright Honeybunny, are you ready to go?” – I felt my professionalism wilt in that moment, but thankfully the supplier just laughed it off and didn’t bring it up again.
