I am the Managing Director of &Smyth Creative Communications, a business which I set up 9 years ago. I lead a small team of clever communications professionals and we mostly work with clients in the food, drink and agri sector. We have embraced hybrid working in the last few years and now are bi-located on the East and West Coasts of Ireland – in the Tara Building in Dublin and The Building Block in Sligo.

In my early career, I was delighted with myself when I managed to secure a number of high-profile radio interviews for a client who was releasing a report…. until I heard some of the clips introducing him with the wrong surname – in my haste I had given an ex-boyfriends surname and it was used all over the national airwaves. It taught me a valuable lesson in proofreading and always looking for an extra pair of eyes to look over press materials!
